How much time does volunteering take?

Volunteering can take up as little or as much time as you like.  You can choose a role to suit your motivation, interests and the time you have available.

Searching on Volunteer Scotland could not be easier To view volunteering roles  in your area, put your postcode or town of where you live, in the box under ‘search for an opportunity’ on the top left side of the front page. Alongside this you can enter a keyword which can relate to the type of volunteering you would like to do e.g. if you wanted to work with the young people then you should type in the words young people.  A list of volunteer roles that fit your criteria will then appear.

When you see a role that you are interested, it in, you can go to more information and then, if you want to apply, just click the ‘register interest’ button.

How do I choose a role?

If you are interested in volunteering but the thought of finding a role that’s right for you is a bit daunting, then help is at hand from staff of Volunteer Centres around the country.

Give them a call and make an appointment to have a chat so they can help you find a volunteering role that you would find enjoyable and worthwhile. You can find your nearest one by entering the name of the town or postcode in the ‘find a Volunteer Centre’  box on the front page of Volunteer Scotland  www.volunteerscotland.org.uk
